But it gets tiring eventually having to keep on top of your work orders so a new system has been added in with DFHack using a tool called Workflow. Now at any time from the main menu you can press 'j' then 'm' to access the work order screen. Press 'a' to assign the room and a ssign it to your manager. Press 'enter' to set the size of the room. Once the room has completed click your mouse on the chair. Do this by making a small room with a desk, chair and chest (container) in it. Press 'n' then 'down' until Manager is highlighted. He will keep a list of all the things you want created and make sure that your workshops work to fill your work orders. While in-game you can actually promote yourself a Manager Dwarf. So that's how the game is actually meant to work. While early in the game it's quite easy to keep track of what you need you will quickly grow to a level when you wish someone else could do it for you.
